Raymond Knapp: Raymond Knapp, Professor of Musicology at UCLA, has authored Symphonic Metamorphoses: Subjectivity and Alienation in Mahler’s Re-Cycled Songs (2003), The American Musical and the Formation of National Identity (2005, winner, George Jean Nathan Award for Dramatic Criticism), and The American Musical and the Performance of Personal Identity (2006), among other books and numerous articles. He co-edited Musicological Identities: Essays in Honor of Susan McClary (2008), and his co-edited Oxford Handbook of the American Musical is due out in 2011. He is currently working of a book about Haydn and American popular music.
